Martin Stabe: Brussels bans U.S. quarts

Imagine the uproar if this were reported about pints in the UK

Shurely shome mishtake - milk hasn't been bottled in pints for yonks. (Ask Neil Herron, to name but one.) Beer, admittedly, is served in pint glasses in pubs, but that's just about the only exception I can think of - even the spirit measures used in pubs are metric, as are the bottles they're poured from.

Milk comes in pints where I come from.
It has a specific exemption from European metric legislation - an exemption which has recently been renewed thanks to the work of British Conservative Memebrs of the European Parliament.
