Oh Lord, not the Meldeamt..I remember queuing for hours to "anmelden" in a police station in the 3rd Bezirk of Vienna, watched in blinding heat by a portrait of Thomas Klestil. I was even more pleased to hear I would have to carry the bit of crappy paper everywhere with me, as well as my passport.
